The Program: LEADERSHIP Camden
County is an approach to community leadership development intended
to enhance the social and economic well-being of Camden County by
developing an active group of effective leaders.
The Goals:
The Target: Members of the community who are interested in realizing their leadership potential. Each participant in this program is both a learner and a teacher and is expected to share his or her knowledge and expertise with the group. LEADERSHIP Camden County aims to provide an active, hands-on learning experience.
Tuition: Tuition for
LEADERSHIP Camden County is $350 per participant. This
covers class material, polo shirt, breakfasts and lunches associated
with each session, and two tickets to the graduation banquet in
May. Class size will be limited to a maximum of 30 participants to
foster group interaction and create the best learning environment
possible.
Schedule: Ten day-long sessions will be held beginning in September, 2009 and ending in May, 2009. To graduate, attendance is required for the September orientation session and at least seven of the nine remaining sessions. Most, but not all, sessions will be held on the second Wednesday of the month from 8 AM to 4:30 PM--see below for details: LEADERSHIP Camden County will address the following topics: · September 17, 2008 Orientation & Team Building · October 1, 2008 Leadership Dynamics · October 15, 2008 Bus Tour of Camden County · November 12, 2008 History & Natural Resources · December 10, 2008 Camden County Economy · January 14, 2009 Education, Social & Health Care Services · February 11, 2009 State Government · February 18, 2009 Snow Day (If Needed) · March 11, 2009 Law & Order · April 8, 2009 Infrastructure · May 13, 2009 Active Leadership & Graduation Banquet
Application Deadline: Deadline is Friday, August 15, 2008. Applications will continue to be accepted until we reach 30 participants.
