What is the purpose of the Chamber?
To be the motivating force in coordinating, leading, and promoting business development, economic diversity, and tourism, while enhancing the quality of life and the natural resources of the area through community involvement, recognition, and pride.
What kind of an organization is the Chamber?
The Chamber is not-for-profit (501(C) 6) corporations governed by a 15 member volunteer Board of Directors. The Chamber has two staff people: Trish Creach, Executive Director; and Sandy Gentry, Administrative Assistant.
How many members are in the Chamber?
Approximately 400 businesses, organizations and individual members.
What is the Chamber’s annual budget?
The Chamber has income and expenses of approximately $200,000 per year. Membership dues accounts for about 1/3 of the gross income, the Products and Services Show accounts for ½ and the balance comes from other program activities (Leadership Camden County, Dogwood Festival, advertising, etc.)

Can I join as an individual?
Yes, dues are $100. However, individual members do not have voting privileges and their business affiliation is not listed in the Chamber directory.

The Camdenton Chamber of Commerce is all about the business community working together. It is the central agency that corrals the forces of the community for its improvement and development: in business, in industry, and in the professions.
BUSINESS MARKETING & PROMOTION
ACCESS Camdenton – New in 2012 - An effort to promote the business community in the Camdenton area, the Camdenton Chamber of Commerce launched a new, inexpensive way business members can share information about their business to the thousands of traveling motorist on the roadways through the ACCESS Camdenton Business Billboard Campaign
Products and Services Show – March of each year - The largest trade show of its kind in Central Missouri. The show is an excellent way to market business in the Lake of the Ozarks region--both to other businesses and consumers. Types of businesses represented include home improvements, computers and electronics, financial services, boats and marine supplies, building supplies, educational institutions, and more.
Referrals - The Camdenton Chamber office is a major source for area-wide information and serves as a vital “open door” to the public. Only Chamber members are referred when prospective customers, clients, tourists, and businesses call on the Camdenton Area Chamber
Facebook – New in 2012 – Chamber members and community happenings are shared on the facebook page – Like us at facebook.com/CamdentonChamber. In addition, the website serves as a great promotional tool for our businesses – check us out at www.camdentonchamber.com.
Welcoming arm for new & expanding businesses - New members or current members who have expanded/remodeled may request a free ribbon cutting. A photo opportunity is arranged and then submitted with a photo and caption to the area newspapers for a courtesy insert.
Exchange of business and community information - A monthly newsletter helps keep businesses informed on issues that have a direct impact on business. Members receive a courtesy listing in the annual relocation magazine [March] and in an annual report as a newspaper pull out tab [November]. Weekly email blasts are sent to chamber members that include business and community information.
Business Networking Socials – The second Tuesday of each month – As the foremost voice for the business community in the Camdenton area, businesses are invited to share information about their business with fellow Chamber members and guests at the monthly networking socials.
Networking – The Camdenton Chamber offers opportunities for businesses to increase contacts and build those very important business relationships.
COMMUNITY EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
Camden County Leadership Program – Annual leadership program from September to May that enhances the leadership skills of participants to improve Camden County’s future.
Dogwood Festival – April of each year – A Camdenton community tradition, now in its 63rd year, showcases the community and the Lake of the Ozarks.
Lake of the Ozarks Air Show held in September is a community event that provides an aviation experience and entertainment not only local residents but draws people in from outside the area while honoring our military.
Holiday promotion – Christmas on the Square the 1st Saturday in December along with many other holiday festivities
You and Your Business – Chamber investment - Informative seminars, workshops, and counseling services are co-sponsored by the Chamber and are offered on a regular basis to help businesses operate more effectively.
Business and Community Development – The Camdenton Chamber of Commerce strives to enthusiastically empower the membership and community with a proactive message that Camdenton is the ideal setting for business, family, vacation and a great place to call home.
Economic Development – The Camdenton Chamber along with strategic partners works to enhance the economic development initiatives locally and regionally. Provide information and support for development of new and expanding industries in the area.
Governmental Relations and Advocacy – From the collaborative legislative reception in January to the grassroots lobbying on a local, state and federal level, the Camdenton Chamber is the collective voice for business. The Camdenton Chamber of Commerce is an advocate for business and for issues that reflect the values, mission and vision of the Chamber.
Shop Local -In an effort to keep money circulating in the community, the Camdenton Chamber emphasizes the value of buying local.
Job Creation – The Camdenton Chamber of Commerce works with many different agencies to help stimulate the creation of jobs within our community while fostering an attitude and program of work that supports a great quality of life atmosphere.
Tourism – A major industry at the Lake of the Ozarks, tourism is proactively supported through special events, visitor center operations, and ongoing communication with our leisure travelers.
The Camdenton Chamber of Commerce joins hands with the business community to promote Camdenton and the Lake Area as the best place to live and work in Central Missouri and the Midwest region.
